In recent weeks, it has been rumoured that the former Mamelodi Sundowns tactician is in serious contention to lead the White Knights ahead of the 2025/26 season.
The Kagiso native is no stranger to Egyptian football, having been extremely successful with their arch-rivals Al Ahly — winning two CAF Champions League titles, two CAF Super Cups, the Egyptian Premier League, as well as an Egyptian Cup.
He is, however, currently without a job after leaving Iranian giants Esteghlal FC midway through the 2024/25 campaign, with the White Knights tipped as his latest destination. According to El Watan, though, Zamalek have yet to make a formal approach to the South African.
While Mosimane is a legendary figure at Ahly, it is believed that he is not particularly fixated on his previous affiliations and does not care about which club he represents next, as long as they have a project that resonates with him, according to El Watan. The same report claims that he is open to returning to Egypt, but what is paramount is that he receives a compelling offer.
