The Spaniard left the Buccaneers for Al Ahly at the end of the previous campaign and oversaw the team's disappointing performance in the FIFA Club World Cup where they were eliminated in the group phase.
The Red Devils squad enjoyed considerable time off after the Club World Cup as Riveiro shifts his focus to the start of pre-season training. The Egyptian side is set to start pre-season in the coming days.
According to Ahly News, Riveiro wants to ensure his players are at peak fitness before the season starts and is reportedly set to introduce an intense fitness regimen.
The publication reported that the team is reportedly set to undergo thorough medical evaluations before departing for Tunisia to attend their pre-season training camp, as the coaching staff wants to ensure all players maintain their ideal fitness and weight.
Riveiro has supposedly asked the players to maintain their fitness and adhere to the dietary plans to stay in peak condition, and has maintained there will be penalties for players who exceed the weight limit.
