The Burkinabe star was part of Wydad’s squad that travelled to the United States for the FIFA Club World Cup, which seemingly signalled the conclusion of one of the most high-profile transfer sagas on the continent. The 29-year-old had been the subject of widespread interest, but his appearance for the Moroccan giants suggested the deal had been finalised.
However, according to The Guardian, while Wydad did acquire Aziz Ki’s services, the club are yet to fully meet all the agreed terms of the transfer. It is reported that the Casablanca-based outfit have until 10 July to complete the move. Should they fail to do so, Yanga reserve the right to either reintegrate the 17-time capped international into their squad or entertain fresh offers from elsewhere.
One club hopeful of the latter scenario unfolding is Libyan side Al Ahly Tripoli. The same report claims the 13-time Libyan champions had a previous bid rejected by the Tanzanian giants, who deemed the offer too low. However, it is understood that Al Ahly Tripoli are now prepared to return with an improved proposal.

Wydad are under pressure to conclude the deal swiftly as they face the risk of losing another key player amid an ongoing squad overhaul. The club have already bid farewell to Cassius Mailula, Thembinkosi Lorch, Mehdi Moubarik, and Renan Viana—all of whom were at the club on loan last season. As such, securing Aziz Ki on a permanent basis is seen as a priority.
