Newly appointed MC Alger coach Rulani Mokwena has been tipped for success in Algeria following a disappointing spell at Wydad Athletic Club.

The Mouloudia appointed Mokwena earlier this month after parting ways with former coach Khaled Ben Yahia, despite leading the Algerian giants to a ninth Ligue Professionnelle 1 title last season.
Mokwena was a hot commodity across Africa as reports suggested Egyptian sides Pyramids FC and Zamalek were courting him, while there was also speculation of a move to Tanzanian side Yanga SC.
However, it was The Doyen who won the race to sign Mokwena and the Johannesburg-native joins them on a two-year contract. According to Febreyer, Egyptian football analyst Taha Taha Abdallah said Mokwena's success with Mamelodi Sundowns shows he can succeed.
"First, it’s important to review Mokwena’s tenure at Mamelodi Sundowns — from his early days to winning the CAF Champions League," Abdallah said.
"He spent years on the technical bench and knew the team inside out. Over time, he shaped what became known as the 'African Samba' style of play," he added.
The analyst revealed that Sundowns' transfer policy aligned with the team's identity under Mokwena, something that was not the case at Wydad.
Abdallah revealed that Mokwena joined the Red Castle during a difficult spell as the club was not in the CAF Champions League and experienced management turmoil.
There was no cohesion between Mokwena and management as Club president Hicham Ait Menna signed 19 new players, many of whom the 38-year-old did not request.
“Mokwena left at a difficult time," he said. "He needed at least a full season to establish his style and choose players that suit his system. His departure reflected a mutual agreement with the club, acknowledging that the key ingredients for success were missing."
However, Abdallah admitted that Mokwena is now entering an environment which mirrors his time at Masandawana more so than at the Moroccan giants, as the Algerian side is stable following their league win last season.

"The club’s internal structure is more consistent, and transfer decisions are far less erratic — all factors that could favour Mokwena’s methodical approach."
