The future of the Democratic Republic of Congo international has been a hot topic in recent weeks following Pyramids’ historic CAF Champions League triumph. Reports suggest that Saudi Pro League side Al Fateh are leading the race to sign the 30-year-old striker after his impressive campaign.
Since Mayele’s arrival, the Egyptian outfit have won the first two major titles in their history — lifting the Egypt Cup in the 2023/24 season before clinching their maiden CAF Champions League title at the expense of Mamelodi Sundowns. He was instrumental in their continental success, having scored in the second leg of the final.
Despite strong links to Saudi Arabia, it's understood that Pyramids have yet to receive a satisfactory offer from Al Fateh or any other interested club. In the meantime, however, the 19-cap DRC international appears to be maintaining a professional attitude.
According to News Mes7at, Mayele has joined the rest of the Pyramids squad in Turkey for their pre-season camp. He is not the only player to have linked up with the team belatedly, with South Africa international Fagrie Lakay also reported to have arrived in the European nation.
