Mamelodi Sundowns defender, Siyanda Zwane, has indicated that he thought he would be first choice right back for Downs this season.

Zwane joined the Chloorkop-based outfit from Golden Arrows at the beginning of last season and although he struggled to make an impact in the first half of the 2014/15 campaign he appeared to have made a name for himself at the club in the second half.
The defender sustained an injury towards the end of the season and has once again struggled to break into coach, Pitso Mosimane's, first team with Ramahlwe Mphahlele and Asavela Mbekile being preferred.
"Honestly speaking, I thought I was going to get the nod in the right back position but I think it was like a new season… a new chapter," Zwane explained to Soccer Laduma.
"Also, you will remember that I couldn't finish the 2014/15 season after I sustained an injury against Kaizer Chiefs and Asavela Mbekile came in and did well in our remaining games as well as in the Nedbank Cup final.
"Going into the new season, I think the coach didn't want to fix something that was not broken. I think it was only fair for the coach to give Mbekile a chance after he finished last season on a high.
"Having said that, we have a healthy competition, which is something good for the team. It is the same competition that will help me grow as a player. If you don't have competition, you tend to relax."
