Kaizer Chiefs may have experienced another setback in their recruitment efforts, as one of their reported targets is close to signing with a Premiership club, according to insiders privy to information.
This development follows the loss of target Elias Mokwana to Tunisian giants Esperance de Tunis, marking a challenging transfer period for Amakhosi.

As previously reported by Soccer Laduma, Chiefs had shown interest in Simphiwe Sithole, a promising youngster from Golden Arrows.
Despite reported early engagement and monitoring by Chiefs scouts as indicated by Siya sources, the negotiations will not eventually culminate in a signing for Amakhosi.
Sources close to the player now explain the latest situation.
"Chiefs were the first ones to show interest in the player (Simphiwe) Sithole. Their scouts had been monitoring him from the Golden Arrows DDC team and they even inquired about him. Then AmaZulu also inquired about him. But he has signed for Polokwane City. I can't really say how long is the contract but he has joined them in pre-season and he will be officially announced soon," the Siya source stated.
A second insider provided further insights into Sithole's decision, highlighting his desire for guaranteed playing time, which he believes he will find in Polokwane.

"Yes, since last season he had been training with Arrows' first team and he was on the verge of signing for them but he has preferred to move to Polokwane where he feels his chances of playing are more than at Arrows too. He is a brilliant young player in the mould of the late Gift Leremi and given the chance he could be playing in the national team soon," the second source stated.
This move to Polokwane City represents a significant decision for Sithole, who is eager to establish himself in the Premiership and potentially catch the eye of national team selectors.
Soccer Laduma reached out to Polokwane City for comment on this potential transfer, but received no response at the time of publishing.
