SuperSport United CEO Stan Matthews has given insight into the absence of veteran left back Onismos Bhasera, revealing what the club is doing to empower him for the next chapter in his life.
The 38-year-old is no longer a player at the club and while it's unclear if he has retired or not, he is busy working on coaching badges which SuperSport are currently sponsoring.

Bhasera was with SuperSport for eight years from 2016, establishing himself as one of the most reliable players in the team. With his experience and consistency on the pitch, the former Kaizer Chiefs and Bidvest Wits player was able to play a key role in the club's knockout competition successes.
Now, after 20 years in the game, he has started focusing on getting his coaching badges, as revealed to the Siya crew by Matthews.
"No, he is not (with SuperSport). We are sponsoring his coaching course," he said.

SuperSport are well known for giving opportunities to former players who served them well, such as Ricardo Katza, Kaitano Tembo and Thabo September, but Matthews revealed that there is no vacancy for Bhasera at the moment. The door, however, is not closed for him to make a return to SuperSport as a coach in the future.
"Currently, there are no vacancies. But we are glad to set him on a path for a role with us or elsewhere. He deserves it as a great club man."
