While the rest of the squad gathered at the Village ahead of their confirmed pre-season tour to the Netherlands, where they will take on Eredivisie side FC Utrecht, the quartet of Aden McCarthy, Mduduzi Shabalala and Bruce Bvuma were noticeably absent.
According to Siya sources, the three players have been granted additional time off following their participation in the recent COSAFA Cup, where they were part of the South Africa squad that went all the way to the final. The extra rest has been afforded to allow them time to recover before reintegrating with the rest of the group.
They are expected to link up with their teammates on 30 June, giving them enough time to prepare for what is expected to be a demanding season under new management.
Chiefs have already confirmed the exits of Edmilson Dove, Ranga Chivaviro and Sabelo Radebe, marking the beginning of a squad reshuffle. However, the club has remained tight-lipped on incoming transfers, with no new signings formally announced as yet.
