The 25-year-old former Sekhukhune United attacker joined the Tunisian giants last year but has not escaped the radar of clubs from other regions, with sources suggesting that teams in Europe, the Middle East, and beyond are now monitoring his situation closely.
A source close to the player indicated to Soccer Laduma that Mokwana is currently in the country but remains fully committed to Esperance.
“Elias was busy with family matters. He is going back on Sunday, and that’s the truth,” said the source.
“There are teams that are interested in the player and the parties are busy talking. However, nothing formal has happened yet. He is still part of the team,” concluded the insider.
Mokwana’s performances at club and national team level have made him one of the most sought-after South African talents abroad.
His explosive pace, work ethic, and versatility have made an instant impression in Tunisia, and it's no surprise that other suitors have begun to make enquiries.
Despite the interest, no deal has been finalised, and any potential move would need to go through proper channels with Esperance holding the player’s contract up to 2027.
