The uncertainty surrounding Fiacre Ntwari’s future at Kaizer Chiefs continues to deepen, with sources indicating that the Rwandan goalkeeper is still not part of coach Nasreddine Nabi’s plans for the upcoming season, amid suggestions that behind-the-scenes dynamics in the technical team may also be working against his chances.
As previously reported by the Siya crew, Ntwari was already facing an uphill battle to retain his place at Naturena, especially as he occupies one of the precious foreign-player slots. Nabi is understood to have made it clear to management that he wants to bring in a new goalkeeper of his own choosing, and Ntwari has fallen down the pecking order behind Bruce Bvuma and Brandon Petersen.

Now, sources close to the situation have reiterated that “nothing has changed” in Ntwari’s standing at the club despite ongoing deliberations behind the scenes.

“Nothing has changed in his situation to tell you the truth. It doesn’t seem like the coach sees him in his plans at the moment. From what we understand, it’s not only about performances – there may also be some behind-the-scenes dynamics with the technical team that aren’t helping his situation,” a source close to the club suggested.
Ntari, 25, joined Chiefs from TS Galaxy just a year ago, but after conceding 11 goals in seven appearances and falling out of favour, he hasn’t featured in more than half a year up to the end of the 2024/25 season.
