News reaching the Siya crew is that Cape Town City are believed to be looking at building a new squad with new players.

According to Siya sources, the Citizens are understood to be bringing in a new goalkeeper following the departure of veteran shot-stopper Darren Keet.

Keet was one of nine players to have parted ways with the Cape Town outfit following their relegation to the Motsepe Foundation Championship last month.

Indications suggest that Kruger United shot-stopper Njabulo Cebekhulu is believed to be on the radar of the Citizens, with the goalkeeper also previously linked to Chippa United.

"They are looking at a replacement for Darren Keet and their first target is Kruger United goalkeeper Njabulo Cebekhulu. They are looking at possibilities of playing both in the Betway Premiership as well as the Motsepe Foundation depending on their pursuing to buy a Betway Premiership status. But they are interested in Cebekhulu," a source revealed to the Siya crew.

According to sources, newly-formed Siwelele FC are also interested in the 29-year-old goalkeeper.

"Siwelele FC enquired about him when they were still SuperSport and apparently they are still interested in him even now. At first it was Chippa United and SuperSport United but now it's Cape Town City and Siwelele FC," the source added.

Cebekhulu was previously been on the books of Golden Arrows and Polokwane City, before he helped Kruger United gain promotion to the Motsepe Foundation Championship.
