On Saturday, the 24-year-old netted his first Premier League goal of the season at the Theatre of Dreams, scoring Burnley’s first equaliser of the match. Fellow African attacker Bryan Mbeumo restored United’s lead soon after, but Jaidon Anthony struck in the 66th minute to level matters once again.
However, heartbreak struck for Foster and his teammates when Bruno Fernandes converted a penalty in the 97th minute to hand United their first three points of the season. Speaking after the game, the South African insisted the Clarets deserved more.
“Disappointed. I feel like we did really well and for the game to end the way that it ended, just breaks our hearts,” he told Burnley’s official YouTube channel.
“I feel we deserved something from the game and for it to end that way was a bit unjust. It is what it is. Unfortunate, but we played really well and I think that we can be proud going forward.”
Foster, who had a goal disallowed in Burnley’s previous match against Sunderland, finally registered a legitimate strike on his return to the English top flight. He even had another ruled out at Old Trafford, which would have secured him a brace. Still, the former Orlando Pirates forward reflected on the significance of scoring at such an iconic venue.

“For sure. Obviously a dream for me, growing up having watched this my whole life. Being at Old Trafford, scoring here is something I dreamt of but never thought would come to realisation so I just like to thank God for this beautiful moment,” he added.
