Liverpool 1-0 Arsenal

Premier League champions Liverpool maintained their perfect start to the season with a 1-0 win over Arsenal at Anfield on Sunday evening.

The Gunners were without Bukayo Saka and Kai Havertz through injury, while Noni Madueke got his first start in the visitors' attack.

The Reds were dealt a big blow in the first half as defender William Saliba was forced off with an injury, adding to the club's injury list.

The two sides battled in the first half but neither were able to carve out any serious openings in the final third.

The opening goal would arrive in spectacular fashion in the 83rd minute when Dominik Szoboszlai found the back of the net for Liverpool with a superb free-kick from around 30 yards out.

The win sees the Reds top the league table going into the international break.

Brighton and Hove Albion 1-2 Manchester City

Brighton and Hove Albion rallied from behind to secure a 2-1 victory over Manchester City on Sunday afternoon.

The Cityzens took the lead on 34 minute when Erling Haaland found the back of the net after being set up by Omar Marmoush on his 100th league appearance.

Bright levelled matters on 67 minutes as former City man James Milner converted a penalty for his first goal of the season.

The home side completed the turnaround in the 89th minute courtesy of a composed finish from Brajan Gruda after a swift counter.

Nottingham Forest 0-3 West Ham United

West Ham United claimed their first win of the season after defeating Nottingham Forest 3-0 on Sunday afternoon.

After a goalless, goals from Jarrod Bowen, Lucas Paqueta and Callum Wilson sealed the win for the Hammers.
