Orlando Pirates have officially confirmed that winger Katlego Otladisa has left the club, bringing an end to his time with the Soweto giants.

The Siya crew reported earlier this week that the 28-year-old’s future at the Buccaneers was hanging in the balance, with sources indicating that head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou had no immediate plans to include him in his matchday squads.
Now, the club has moved to announce his departure, just weeks before the September 22 transfer deadline.
Otladisa joined Pirates from Marumo Gallants ahead of the 2023/24 season but struggled to establish himself under former coach Jose Riveiro.
The same challenges persisted under Ouaddou, and despite being registered for the 2025/26 campaign following his return from a loan spell at Sekhukhune United, he never featured in any of the Moroccan tactician’s line-ups.
His exit comes as little surprise given Ouaddou’s preference for a lean and competitive squad. Pirates have opted to part ways rather than pursue another loan, with staying at Mayfair no longer considered a realistic outcome.
The former Mamelodi Sundowns and Platinum Stars man leaves Orlando Stadium with several clubs believed to be monitoring his situation, including Orbit College, Chippa United and Marumo Gallants. A return to Sekhukhune has already been ruled out, though the next few weeks could prove decisive in finding his next destination.
Otladisa was still under contract until June 2026 and would have been eligible to sign a pre-contract with another side in January next year had he remained.
Instead, he now departs the Buccaneers in search of a fresh start as he looks to revive a career that has stalled over the past two seasons.
