Mokwana left Tunisian giants Esperance to join Saudi Pro League side Al-Hazem on a season-long loan deal. He followed in the footsteps of Mohau Nkota, who joined Al-Ettifaq from Orlando Pirates on a permanent transfer.
Nkota was a shining light in his Saudi Pro League debut as he opened the scoring for his new side in a 2-1 victory over Al-Kholood, but Mokwana was not as lucky as he had to settle for a draw.
The South African started the game on the bench and was introduced in the 72nd minute with his side leading 1-0 against Damac.
It was a lively few minutes for the 28-year-old as he set up a goal, which was ruled out by VAR, picked up a yellow card in the 89th minute and was fouled for a penalty in the 96th minute, the team's second of the game, which was missed by Omar Al Somah.

The newly-promoted side paid the price as Thembinkosi Lorch's former Wydad AC teammate, Jamal Harkass, headed home an equaliser in the 98th minute for a share of the spoils.
