Fadlu Davids' side signed two stars from Mamelodi Sundowns to boost his squad for the upcoming campaign as they look to compete for league and continental glory.

Former Sundowns duo Rushine De Reuck and Neo Maema swapped the yellow and blue for the Reds of Msimbazi and will now look to perform in Tanzania to convince Hugo Broos of their selection ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

According to Foot Africa, Maema opened up on his exit from Masandawana after four successful years with the club.

The 29-year-old made 120 appearances for The Brazilians, winning four league titles, the MTN8, Nedbank Cup and the Confederation of African Football (CAF) African Football League (AFL) during his time there.

The midfielder was open about his move to Simba and explained that he held Sundowns in great respect.

"My motivation wasn't a simple wish to leave," Maema said. "The overwhelming factor was my profound respect for Mamelodi Sundowns as an institution."

He added, "The club provided me with incredible opportunities throughout my time there. This move represents something different — a conscious choice for change. I recognised that my career required a new setting, as my previous situation had clearly reached its natural conclusion."

While the ex-Royal AM star reflected positively on his Sundowns career, he was determined to prove himself in Tanzania.

"This transition to Simba specifically offered the perfect chance for renewal," the Bloemfontein-native said.

"I've always aspired to experience football beyond my home country's borders. I'm genuinely excited about this new chapter - it represents exactly the kind of growth opportunity I need," the South African international added.
