The 13-year-old is currently on the books of Blackburn Rovers and has reportedly caught the eye of many teams in the English top flight including Chelsea, Manchester City, Manchester United and Liverpoool.
According to The Sun, Chelsea are set to edge Manchester City out for the teenager's services for a reported fee of £700,000 (R16.9 million).
The Manchester side were reported to be in the pound seat to land Schaper, who moved to England from South Africa a year ago, as they already have his younger brother, Astin, in their set-up.
He moved to Blackburn from SuperSport United last year and enjoyed an incredible season with the U14 team. He reportedly netted 65 goals and added 45 assists playing as a midfielder.
IOL reported that Schaper was the captain of SuperSport United's under-11 side that toured Spain in 2021, where he caught the eye of Sporting CP.
