The story
Tanzanian giants Simba SC announced the signing of former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Neo Maema in grand fashion.
The Fadlu Davids-coached club confirmed his signing on Thursday after the South African attacker linked up with his new teammates in Ismailia, Egypt, where they are currently undergoing a four-week pre-season camp ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.
Maema, who recently parted ways with Sundowns, wasted no time in making his next move, joining Wekundu Wa Msimbazi shortly after captaining South Africa at CHAN in Kampala, Uganda.
He reportedly arrived in Egypt on Tuesday, and in a uniquely Egyptian welcome, Simba unveiled their second South African signing of the window with a photo shoot featuring Maema atop a camel, with the iconic Pyramids of Giza in the background.
