Message To Ngcobo: 'We Should See More' At Chiefs

Nkosingiphile Ngcobo opened the scoring for Kaizer Chiefs against Stellenbosch FC.

A former Kaizer Chiefs player has given Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Nkosingiphile Ngcobo a message after his promising start to the new campaign.

Ngcobo is without a doubt one of the country's most talented midfielders, but has never really lived up to his potential. Injuries, along the way, have not helped his cause, and inconsistent performances are also part of being in and out of the team.

He had some promising moments during the team's pre-season tour of the Netherlands and got the new Betway Premiership campaign off to a flyer with a well-taken free kick goal in Amakhosi's 2-0 victory over Stellenbosch FC on Sunday.

Mokete Tsotetsi, an ex-Chiefs defender, feels it's time for the 25-year-old to shine and deliver for the Soweto giants.

"He has been at Chiefs for quite some time. He got promoted and he showed promise. Sometimes with quality players, they can start well, and then they fade a bit, and consistency is a bit of a concern. But you learn along the way. He has started well, so hopefully he has seen where he lacks and see how he can manage his consistency and give us good performances because he is one player who can do well for the team," Tsotetsi told Soccer Laduma.

"My message to him is that he should keep working hard and we should see more. He has started well, so he must keep on working. This is his time to shine and get more game time at Chiefs."

Amakhosi will be back in action on Wednesday when they host Polokwane City at FNB Stadium.
