Lilepo's Impact Compared To Billiat, Dolly, Nurkovic At Chiefs

Lilepo's Impact Compared To Billiat, Dolly, Nurkovic At Chiefs

Kaizer Chiefs new recruits Makabi Lilepo.

After new Kaizer Chiefs forward Makabi Lilepo hit the ground running, Soccer Laduma compares his scoring rate to former strikers following their signing at the club.

Even though it's early days, Lilepo has hit the ground running at Chiefs, scoring three goals in his first five matches, to boost Amakhosi's attack, which looked thin before his arrival, including Tashreeq Morris.

Chiefs' Latest Solutions For Left-Back Woes

The Democratic Republic of Congo attacker scored in three consecutive league matches against AmaZulu, Stellenbosch and SuperSport United, which is the best return from a new signing at the club at least in the last decade.

The last new signing at least in the last ten years to make an immediate impact at Chiefs is former midfielder Khama Billiat, who scored in his first two games in the 2018/19 season after he joined the Glamour Boys from Mamelodi Sundowns.

However, it took Billiat his eighth game to score again, in a campaign he netted 11 goals in all competitions.

Former striker Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana also made an early impact at the Soweto giants in his first run of matches, after scoring six goals in three matches early in the 2022/23 season.

However, Bimenyimana scored his first goal in his fourth match for Chiefs.

Erstwhile forward Samir Nurkovic also made an immediate impression in front of goal in the 2019/20 season but he only scored his first goal in his third match and was on the scoresheet again in the seventh game, in a season he scored 14 goals in all competitions.

Keagan Dolly also impressed as a new signing for Chiefs in the 2021/22 season, scoring eight goals but his first goal only came after eight matches.

Christian Saile showed glimpses of brilliance upon his arrival at Amakhosi in January 2023 but he found the back of the net for the first time in his sixth match.

There were a lot of expectations from Ranga Chivaviro after he was signed from Marumo Gallants following a 17-goal campaign in July 2023 but it took Chivaviro nine matches to score his first goal in the Black and Gold colours, in a season he finished with four goals overall.
