Kaizer Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi has delivered a passionate message ahead of this weekend’s Soweto Derby, insisting that while his team may be struggling, the heart of the club is still beating strong.

Chiefs face Orlando Pirates in Saturday’s blockbuster Betway Premiership clash at FNB Stadium, and despite their underwhelming league form, Nabi is calling on his squad to show fight and pride in the face of adversity.
The Amakhosi are without a derby win this season and sit in an uncharacteristic ninth position. For Nabi, this derby offers not just a shot at redemption, but a chance to remind everyone who Kaizer Chiefs truly are.
“Despite our current log standing, we believe two big clubs are going to play on Saturday,” Nabi said at the official pre-match press conference in Melrose Arch.
“Even if we are not in a very good position, whoever wants to win on Saturday, it’s because he has his reasons. We have to solve it.”
“We see that the biggest clubs get ill, but they never die. And we believe that we are the biggest club in South Africa. Probably at this time we might be a little bit ill, but we believe that we are still alive and we can do something.”
Chiefs’ last win in the league came in early March, and their inconsistency has left them scrambling for a top eight finish with just a few games remaining.
