Kaizer Chiefs management have come out in public support of head coach Nasreddine Nabi amid mounting speculation that the Tunisian tactician is set to be axed at the end of the season, despite winning the club their first piece of silverware in a decade.

According to other media, the former Young Africans mentor has already packed his bags and will be shown the door when the 2024/25 campaign concludes. The narrative, which gained momentum following a string of inconsistent league results, seemed to indicate that even a cup triumph might not be enough to save him.
Despite this, Soccer Laduma was the first to reveal that Chiefs management held a meeting on Monday, concluding that the club wants Nabi to remain at the club. This is consistent with the Siya crew's insider information in recent weeks which expressed Amakhosi's faith in Nabi to continue to fulfill his ''project''.
In a strong show of unity and public relations strategy, Kaizer Chiefs’ top brass moved swiftly to shut down any rumours and reinforce their commitment to the coach. Speaking during a media engagement, the club’s Marketing Director Jessica Motaung made it clear that the leadership group remains firmly behind the man who guided Amakhosi to their long-awaited Nedbank Cup title.
“Look, we had a vision, had a strategy, a lot of work has been done. A three-year foundation has been laid,” she told NewzroomAfrika.
“The coach has been given the resources that he needs to do what he needs to do. The support, commercially, financially, with players, so we brought in a technical team that is strong. And we've seen what they were able to do with the Nedbank Cup. We believe that these two games [left in the season], the guys will do their best. Ours is to make sure that we continue supporting and that they're successful. So there's still a lot of confidence.
“How can we not be confident? Just with the Nedbank Cup, he’s doing the work that he needs to do. And like any team, you'll sit down and review the season, and still say what needs to change, what needs to be added. But certainly, our commitment [is] to making sure that Chiefs is successful.”
Her sentiments were firmly backed by Sporting Director Kaizer Motaung Junior, who also made it clear that Nabi remains in the club’s immediate plans.
“I think in all the interviews that we've had, we've been very clear,” he explained.
“I mean, the coach has a contract, he is here with us. We just won a trophy. And you know we sat before the season, and they had a particular plan. The technical staff has done tremendous work and he's our coach.”
The unified front comes at a critical time for Amakhosi, who are not only looking to build momentum ahead of next season but also hoping to bring stability to a team that has experienced a revolving door of head coaches in recent years.

The Nedbank Cup win was a vital moment for both the club and Nabi, ending a barren spell and silencing critics who had started to question whether he was the right man for the job.
It remains to be seen how this stance will hold up if results do not meet expectations next season, but for now, the message is clear. Nasreddine Nabi is the man trusted to take Kaizer Chiefs forward, and any talk of an early exit appears to be unfounded.
