The story

PUMA has officially unveiled the match ball for the Premier League; the PUMA Orbita Ultimate PL. This ball is set to be seen on pitches, parks, and gardens worldwide as we approach the 2025/26 season.

This brand-new Premier League ball is now available, and it's geared around having fun with the ball, at all levels of the beautiful game, reminding fans and supporters that "When you have the ball, remember to 'Have a Ball.'

The new partnership between PUMA and the Premier League launches with the 'Have a Ball' campaign, which celebrates the joy and excitement of having the ball at your feet.

This initiative also aims to encourage players of all levels to overcome overthinking and self-doubt, inspiring a style of play driven by instinct, freedom, and creativity, both on and off the pitch.

"By emphasising the emotional and liberating aspects of playing football, the 'Have a Ball' campaign highlights how the simple act of just having the ball can bring immense joy and excitement," noted Richard Teyssier, PUMA's Vice President Brand & Marketing.

"On average, a professional footballer has control of the ball for around 109 seconds every game (FIFA, 2022), so when you have the ball at your feet, you need to make it count and create moments that make a difference on the pitch.

"We are proud to have some of the best players in the world creating magic moments on the pitch using the new ball. PUMA is committed to elite performance and product, something evident as a result of our new partnership," added PUMA's Teyssier.

Will Brass, Chief Commercial Officer of the Premier League, revealed when the ball will make its official debut on the pitch: "The launch of the new ball, which will be seen in play for the first time during the Premier League Summer Series, marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter.

"We are thrilled to welcome PUMA as a key partner in our efforts to enhance the Premier League, both on and off the pitch. We can't wait to see the ball in action, delivering unforgettable goals and moments for players and fans alike," he added.

As stated by PUMA in a press release, their official Premier League match ball features twelve evenly sized panels for balanced weight distribution and precision.

Its high-frequency moulding enhances durability, while deeper seams improve aerodynamics, shape retention, and provide a soft touch in all conditions.

As part of a new long-term partnership, PUMA and the Premier League will also support grassroots football through initiatives like Premier League Kicks, programs for girls and women, international community efforts, and anti-racism campaigns.

PUMA will back the pre-season Premier League Summer Series tournament in the USA, featuring six matches across three venues.

The event will also include community coaching sessions and in-store activations at PUMA's NYC flagship store.

The PUMA Orbita Ultimate PL will debut during the Summer Series in July and feature in the Premier League's opening round on 16 August 2025.

It's available for purchase from Tuesday, 3 June at PUMA.com, PUMA stores, and selected sports retailers.
