With former Chelsea star Hakim Ziyech reportedly a target for Wydad Athletic Club ahead of the FIFA Club World Cup, the latest on the Moroccan’s potential arrival has now been revealed.

The Red Castle have been active in the transfer market ahead of the newly expanded global showpiece.
Wydad have been drawn into arguably the toughest group in the competition, alongside Emirati giants Al Ain, Juventus, and Manchester City. The club has already secured the services of Stephane Aziz Ki, Hamza Hannouri and Nordin Amrabat, and are looking to make further inroads with additional acquisitions — one of them being Hakim Ziyech.
Having made a name for himself in Europe with the likes of Ajax Amsterdam, Chelsea, and Galatasaray, the Moroccan international moved to Qatari outfit Al-Duhail SC earlier this year.
However, after just six months at the club, the Dutch-born attacker now looks set to leave. While Wydad have been touted as a possible destination, Le Site Info Sports reports that the club have not engaged with the 32-year-old or his representatives to gauge his availability for the tournament.

The same report claims that the record Botola Pro Inwi champions currently have no intention of signing him, as their full focus remains on the upcoming Club World Cup. However, it is understood that this could change should the 32-time capped international come forward and offer himself to Wydad.
