The story

It’s been onwards and upwards since Kaizer Chiefs attacking midfielder Mfundo Vilakazi penned his first professional contract with the club before the start of the 2024/25 season.

With his sublime playmaking ability and mesmerising skills, the diminutive baller managed four goal contributions in 27 appearances across all competitions.

Vilakazi may not have been around to celebrate Kaizer Chiefs' first major trophy success in 10 years, but he became an African champion with the national under-20 team.

His Nedbank Cup and Under-20 Africa Cup of Nations success in Egypt rounded off a positive season for the youngster, who made sure to present his medals and hand over one of his national team jerseys to his fitness trainer.

The 20-year-old presented his trainer, Martin Elias, with his number 10 Amajita jersey, much to the delight of the experienced trainer, who has a healthy roster of PSL stars as his clients, including Kamohelo Mokotjo, Sipho Chaine, Sipho Mbule, Haashim Domingo, and Terrence Mashego.
