Motsepe Foundation Championship newbies Cape Town City have announced the appointment of a coach who has previously spent almost his entire playing and coaching career at one club.
Having recently been linked with purchasing a topflight status after getting relegated, City are preparing for life in the second tier and have confirmed the appointment of Dutchman Jan Vreman, who comes from a long relationship with De Graafschap.

Vreman worked in different positions at De Graafschap, from their youth side to the first team, gaining experience which could come in handy as the Citizens rebuild. A number of players have left the club as free agents, while the likes of Jaedin Rhodes, Jody Ah Shene, Shakeel April and Emile Witbooi are available for sale at the right price.
This means Vreman has a big job having to rebuild the squad and still challenge for automatic promotion. City want to make an immediate return and the club will have to use his experience of working with youth and experience to guide the team back up to the Betway Premiership.
