Wales began their 2020 European Championship campaign with a 1-1 draw against Switzerland on Saturday afternoon.
Gareth Bale was joined in the attack by Manchester United winger Daniel James while Kieffer Moore started up front.
The Welsh carve out the first opening, as when James' cross found Moore who saw his header tipped over the crossbar by Swiss shot-stopper Yann Sommer on 14 minutes.
The Swiss went close with a chance of their own on 28 minutes as Haris Seferovic. did well to create space before firing just wide of the upright just minutes before Ward kept out an acrobatic strike at the near post.
Switzerland nearly got the breakthrough on the stroke of halftime when Seferovic was played in by Kevin Mbabu, but he fired his effort over the crossbar from close range.
However, the Swiss got their reward five minutes after the interval when Breel Emobolo rose above his marker to head home Xherdan Shaqiri's in-swinging corner.
That proved to be Shaqiri's final major involvement as the Liverpool attacker made way for Denis Zakaria for the final 25 minutes of the second half.
However, Wales were back on level terms in the 74th minute when Moore got rid of his marker before heading home Joe Morell's first-time cross.
Switzerland thought they had found a second goal on 86 minutes when Mario Gavranovic volleyed home from close range, but the strike was ruled out by VAR for an offside as the encounter finished 1-1.
