Tau featured in a front three against the Group A leaders who unleashed Mauro Icardi and Angel Di Maria with Kylian Mbappe on the bench.
PSG showed their intentions as early as the seventh minute when Icardi fired the visitors ahead with a half volley from Di Maria's assist.
A mistimed clearance from Keylor Navas nearly levelled matters on the half-hour mark, fortunately though the attempt flew over the top.
Icardi almost grabbed a brace five minutes from halftime after being sent clear with a long pass, but he was denied by Simon Mignolet's outstretched leg.
Mbappe entered for the French champions a minute later, with Eric Choupo-Moting sacrificed as Brugge struggled to unlock Thiago Silva and Marquinhos.
Mbappe turned on the magic ten minutes after coming on as he connected with Di Maria to head in off the rebound from Mignolet's block.
Brugge fell apart as possession turnover found Mbappe who crossed to Icardi to tap in his second of the day with Mignolet in no man's land.
Kreptin Diatta thought he had halved the deficit a stomping finish from outside the area on 67 minutes, but the effort was chalked off following a handball.
Mbappe went on to complete his brace 12 minutes to fulltime as he fed off Di Maria's pass to round Mignolet for an easy bottom corner conversion.
The French sensation then finished off a loose ball to the area from close range eight minutes to fulltime to complete his hat-trick.
The result puts PSG firmly at the top of the group with a hundred percent record, while Brugge fell to their first defeat.
