Manchester United legend Paul Scholes has slammed Ashley Young for his act of simulation in the team's win over CSKA Moscow in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday night.
With United desperately in search of a goal in the second half following an average display in the first 45 minutes, the former Aston Villa winger seemed to go to ground easily to try to win a spot-kick after a collision with CSKA's Georgi Schennikov.
Despite the penalty not being awarded, Scholes did not like what he saw from Young, and said the Englishman needs to stop embarrassing himself.
"Ashley needs to stop doing this," Scholes told BT Sport.
"He knows himself he needs to stop doing this, but it's a habit, he can't get rid of it.
"It's so obvious and he just needs to get it out of his game.
"It is embarrassing and he needs to get rid of it. Ashley knows that.
"He's a really good player and he doesn't need to resort to these tactics, but I think it's something ingrained in him."
Young has been heavily criticised for his play-acting antics in the past, and was even benched by Sir Alex Ferguson after diving for a penalty in a match against Arsenal.
