A Pyramids FC star has stated that he expects Mamelodi Sundowns to provide a sterner challenge than Orlando Pirates did during their CAF Champions League semi-final clash.

On Saturday afternoon, the Egyptian giants will compete in their first-ever continental final when they take on Ka Bo Yellow in the CAF Champions League grand finale. The North African outfit had to navigate an arduous path to the final, facing teams such as Esperance de Tunis, AS FAR Rabat, and Orlando Pirates.
The latter were Sundowns’ closest challengers in the Betway Premiership, and Krunoslav Jurcic’s side did not suffer a single defeat over two legs against the Buccaneers. Now, they must take on the team that edged out the Sea Robbers to claim the South African top-flight title, as they prepare to face Sundowns for a second consecutive season in the Champions League.
Pyramids veteran Dodo Elgabas claims that while they performed well against the Soweto giants, he expects a much tougher test against Miguel Cardoso’s men.
“Yeah, I think we had a very good game against Orlando (Pirates),” Elgabas said when asked by Soccer Laduma.
“We know South African football. We know they are technical players, we know they like to play football on the ground. We played Orlando last month, last year we had a game against Sundowns, so I think we’re used to this type of football.

“Maybe it’s an advantage that we played against Orlando, I don’t know, but yes, they are two big teams. But I think Sundowns have more experience in a competition like this, and I think they are a little bit different — maybe play a little bit better football — but everybody has their own tactics. So I think Sundowns will be harder opponents.”
