The club released a statement on its website that the two parties reached an agreement to end the Italian's tenure as Real Madrid manager.

"Real Madrid CF and Carlo Ancelotti have reached an agreement to end his tenure as Real Madrid manager," the statement read.

"Our club wishes to express its gratitude and affection to one of the greatest legends of Real Madrid and world football.

Real Madrid President Florentino Perez said Ancelotti was part of Real Madrid's history "forever".

"Carlo Ancelotti is now forever part of the great Real Madrid family," Perez said.

"We are proud to have enjoyed a coach who has helped us achieve so much success and who has also represented the values of our club in an exemplary manner."

Ancelotti is considered one of the most successful managers in Real Madrid's history, enjoying two successful tenures from 2013-2015 and again from 2021-2025.

During his two tenures, he won 15 major trophies including three UEFA Champions League titles, three Club World Cups, two La Liga crowns, and two Copa Del Reys.

The former Chelsea manager was tipped to exit the club after a difficult season as the club only won the UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Intercontinental Cup. It was the first time since 2020/21 that the club failed to win a domestic trophy.
