Pyramids are gearing up for the biggest match in their recent history when the Sky Blues take on Betway Premiership champions Mamelodi Sundowns in the CAF Champions League final.
The first leg takes place in Pretoria on Saturday 24 May, with the second leg taking place a week later in Cairo.
Pyramids were founded in 2008 and their fortunes changed drastically in 2018 after a take-over by Saudi Arabia's Turki Al-Sheikh and then by Emirati Salem Al Shamsi a year later, Afrik-Foot Reported.
After a big cash investment, Pyramids grew in stature as one of Egypt and Africa's leading clubs and culminated in their first appearance in the CAF Champions League final.
Pyramids' rise to prominence has come as no surprise to former Pyramids player Amor Layouni, who was a Sky Blues player between 2019 and 2021.
"It's a very good club, like a family," Layouni reportedly told Afrik-Foot.
"Everyone takes care of you and makes sure you're comfortable. The players, the staff, the coaches, the management take good care of them. They want to win, obviously, but it was only a matter of time. The environment is good. The facilities are good," the 32-year-old added.
The Tunisian international said he had only good things to say about his former side despite personal struggles.
"I have nothing bad to say about Pyramids, even though I struggled there, but that's football," he said.

"The style of play didn't suit me. But other than that, it's a very good club, a good experience."
