A former FC Barcelona star could land himself in hot water after he reportedly spat in the face of an opposition coach.
An Inter Miami side boasting Lionel Messi, Sergio Busquets, Luis Suarez and Jordi Alba was beaten 3-0 in the Leagues Cup final by Seattle Sounders.
The defeat was a bitter pill to swallow for the former Barcelona players, who missed out on silverware with The Herons. Things on the pitch turned sour following the game.
According to The Guardian, Suarez was left particularly frustrated after a goalless display and reportedly confronted Sounders player Obed Vargas, where he had wrapped his arm around Vargas before being pulled away as the confrontation grew larger.
Sergio Busquets also got involved and appeared to throw a punch in the face of the young midfielder.
The incident escalated after video footage captured Suarez appearing to spit in the face of Seattle Sounders Director of Security, Gene Ramirez, as his teammate Oscar Ustari and another member of the Seattle Sounders staff came to pull the situation apart.
It is not the first time that the Uruguayan has been at the centre of on-field controversy. He has received three separate bans for biting incidents while he was at Ajax, Liverpool and with the national team.
The 38-year-old was also banned for eight games when he allegedly racially abused Manchester United's Patrice Evra while he was at Liverpool.
