The Top Goalscorers In 2018 So Far

Despite his recent four-goal showing, Mohamed Salah is not among the top five goalscorers in 2018 so far, while Cristiano Ronaldo is racing ahead of the rest of Europe's most dangerous forwards.

The Real Madrid superstar also scored four goals in his latest outing before the current international break, taking his total for the calendar year to 21 strikes.

Ronaldo has already opened up a five-goal gap on Lionel Messi and Antoine Griezmann, who have both found the back of the net 16 times since the turn of the year.

Manchester City forward Sergio Aguero follows in fourth spot with 15 strikes, while Paris Saint-Germain's Angel Di Maria, Messi's teammate Luis Suarez, and Galatasaray's Bafetimbi Gomis sit on 14 goals each.

Salah appears outside the top five for the calendar year with 13 goals in 2018 so far, as many as Benfica striker Jonas and Sporting Lisbon's Bas Dost.

Ronaldo is also ahead of the rest when it comes to his goals average, having scored his 21 strikes in just 13 appearances at a rate of one goal every 55 minutes. Next best is Gomis, who has scored a goal every 61 minutes, while Salah has netted once every 76 minutes this year.
