Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi are widely suggested to be the best paid football players in the world, but according to Football Leaks another star earns more.

It is claimed that former Paris-Saint Germain forward Ezequiel Lavezzi has jumped atop of the highest earning players ranking following his move to Hebei China Fortune in February.
The Argentine allegedly pockets €53.2 million (R782m) over 23 months with the Chinese side, which calculates to around €27.7 milion (R407m) for a full year - more than any other footballer in the world.
In comparison, Ronaldo reportedly earns €21 million (R309m) net per year following his latest contract extension, while Messi is believed to be an annual salary of €19 million (R279m) after deductions.
Football Leaks have been very active over recent weeks, leaking information that Ronaldo allegedly committed tax fraud between 2010 and 2013.

Former Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho was also on of the football personalities being accused of tax fraud by Football Leaks.
