The French club announced the player's €222 million (R3.46 billion) move from the Catalan giants on Thursday evening, following weeks of speculation.

Neymar is now the most expensive player in football history, more than doubling the record fee Manchester United spent on Paul Pogba last season.

The Brazilian was unveiled at the Parc des Princes on Friday afternoon, in front of thousands of fans who could not wait to see the club's new superstar.

"I came to PSG to give them the new titles that they deserve to win. This is my motivation, to challenge myself, something new," he said at the unveiling, according to the club's official website.

"My heart told me to sign for PSG, so I followed my heart."
