Following his return to his boyhood club Santos in 2024, Neymar has been the subject of intense transfer speculation.
The 33-year-old was linked with a move to fellow Brazilian Serie A sides Botafogo and Fluminense ahead of the FIFA Club World Cup, but he chose to stay with Santos.
Neymar's stock still apparently remains high as rumours emerged that Olympique de Marseille were reportedly interested in the former Barcelona man.
According to an X post from Argentinian outlet TyC Sports, Neymar's negotiations with Santos were not going as he had hoped, and reported that Marseille were leading the race to land his signature.
A recent report from Le Parisien revealed Marseille's stance on the Neymar saga. A spokesperson from the club gave a blunt response to the Neymar links.
"It's completely bogus," the spokesperson said.
