Mosimane enjoyed a ton of success with the Saudi club's namesake in Egypt, winning two CAF Champions League titles and a host of domestic trophies during his near-three-year stint.
Following his tenure with the Red Devils, Mosimane moved to Saudi Pro League side Al Ahli in September 2022. It was after his unveiling as Al Ahli coach that he wrote a message to The Royals' faithful on X.
"Let’s awaken the sleeping giant and the people back to fill the stadium. Very big task but exciting too," he said.
Three years on and after Mosimane's departure, the club enjoyed a period of success, including victory in the AFC Champions League in 2024/25. One fan responded to the former Bafana boss: "This post made us champions."
The 61-year-old revealed he had a calling to move to Al-Raqi to bring glory back to the club.
"God ordered me to go to Jeddah, Saudi to whisper something to a sleeping Giant. It responded, woke up and went to conquer the Continent of Asia. I am a big admirer of what is happening there," he added.
The ex-Mamelodi Sundowns tactician also thanked the fans for their continuous support shown toward him during his lone season in charge.
