Can Mohamed Salah Beat Lionel Messi & Cristiano Ronaldo To European Golden Shoe?

Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo have won nine of the past 10 European Golden Shoes between them, but Mohamed Salah could beat them to the award this season to become the first African to lift the accolade.

The Liverpool winger has netted 14 Premier League goals so far in this campaign, which puts him on 28 points, level on points with Ronaldo.

However, Messi currently leads the ranking with 17 goals, equating to 34 points. LaLiga, Serie A and the Premier League all have a "two points" accumulator in the ESM Golden Shoe ranking, based on the strength of the leagues.
