Man Utd have already enjoyed a busy transfer window so far, securing the big-money signings of Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo. The duo will add much-needed impetus to a Red Devils side that struggled in front of goal last season.
A striker remains the priority for Ruben Amorim's side, and Benjamin Sesko currently tops the list. After missing out on Liam Delap and Viktor Gyokeres to Chelsea and Arsenal, respectively, the Slovenian has emerged as their next target.
However, the 20-time Premier League champions face stiff competition from Newcastle United for his signature, who are searching for a replacement as Alexander Isak remains a target for Liverpool.
Recent reports from transfer guru Fabrizio Romano revealed that the Magpies submitted a €90 million (R1,8 billion) bid to secure the RB Leipzig striker's services.
Romano reported further that Amorim's side responded with a €75 million (R1,5 billion) offer with an additional €10 million (R207 million) in add-ons.
The Italian reported further that Man Utd sources believe Sesko is leaning towards a switch to Old Trafford instead of St. James Park, and the decision now lies solely with the Slovenian.
