Jose Riveiro's Al Ahly tenure got off to a rocky start following a disappointing FIFA Club World Cup campaign, where the Red Devils were eliminated at the group stage.
However, the Spaniard's attention shifted to pre-season preparations with the defending Egyptian Premier League champions, but he has reportedly been upset with his players in recent friendly games against Petrojet and the Egypt U20 side, Ngm Algmahir reported.
Riveiro was reportedly upset after the game against the Egypt U20 side, as they had wasted plenty of easy chances in front of goal, despite controlling the game. The former Orlando Pirates boss allegedly viewed this as a lack of focus in attack - an issue he had emphasised to his players.
The Red Giant also played out a 2-2 draw against Petrojet, and the 49-year-old was visibly upset with his team for a careless performance after they let a 2-goal lead slip.
The Vigo-native had told his players that important details, even in friendly games, cannot be overlooked as they can spill over into official competitions, citing their lack of clinicalness and drop in performance as 'unacceptable'.
