Robert Lewandowski has officially set the second highest attendance at the Camp Nou for a player being unveiled.
On Friday afternoon, the ex-Bayern Munich hitman was unveiled to the Blaugrana faithful at the home of the five-time European champions.
Lewandowski was signed while the club were touring the United States of America for pre-season, and was yet to be introduced to the Barca fans.
Judging by the attendance in the crowd, it is obvious they longed to see their new star striker in the flesh.
Of the 60 000 free tickets that were put up by Barca, 59 026 of them were taken as a flock of fans came to witness the Poland international in the Blaugrana colours, according to Barca Universal.
The former Bayern Munich man was just a few hundred shy of equalling the record set by Zlatan Ibrahimovic in 2009, when 60 000 fans came to witness the Swede after he joined the Catalan giants from Inter Milan.
It was also revealed during the unveiling that Lewandowski would be the club's new No. 9, with Memphis Depay seemingly being stripped of the number.
