According to football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea left-back Marcos Alonso is closing in on a move to the Blaugrana and will complete his switch from the Blues this week.

The 31-year-old, who was once on Real Madrid's books, will reportedly join Xavi Hernandez's project in LaLiga for less than €10 million (R169 million), with just small details to confirm before he officially puts pen to paper.
Alonso will become the sixth new arrival in what has been a transfer window for the ages for Joan Laporta's Barcelona, who beat Mexican giants Pumas UNAM 6-0 at the Camp Nou in the Joan Gamper Trophy on Sunday.
