A United States Men's National Team Star has admitted that the only way they can stop Gareth Bale is if they kick him off the pitch.
Osimhen Accused Of Sabotaging Nigerian National Team
Earlier this month, the former Real Madrid star was the hero for his new side Los Angeles FC as, in the dying embers of the MLS Cup final against Philadelphia Union, Bale came off the bench to score a last-minute equaliser for the California-based side and force a penalty shootout.
The Welshman and his teammates were triumphant in the final as the winger added to his catalogue of clutch goals.
On the pitch alongside Bale that day was his teammate midfielder Kellyn Acosta, and the United States of America international will now be preparing to take on his club colleague at the 2022 FIFA World Cup. Aware of the danger the legendary attacker posses to the USMNT, the 27-year-old Acosta says there is only one way to deal with the former Tottenham Hotspurs star.
"He's a specimen," Acosta said, as per ESPN.
"He's a guy that we know to have eyes on.
"We've got to literally start kicking him around the field a little bit. Make him feel us. Limit his time and space."
Bale made his way to Los Angeles after his contract at the Santiago Bernabeu expired earlier this year, and while much of the last couple of seasons the Cardiff native has been plagued by injuries, Acosta feels they cannot afford for his teammate to be at ease on the pitch.
"Let him be comfortable [and] he can really hurt you," Acosta added.
"Seeing how he moves around and sees the game? He's still Gareth Bale."
