It was another unhappy outing for the Red Castle at the global spectacle, as after their 2-0 defeat to Manchester City on their opening matchday, the record Moroccan champions suffered an emphatic 4-1 loss to the Old Lady on Sunday evening.
The silver lining for the North African champions is that they were finally able to get on the scoresheet at the competition, courtesy of Lorch. The South Africa international pulled a goal back for Wydad to make it 2-1 during the contest, but the Turin-based side would go on to score two more goals in the second half.
After the match, the Bloemfontein native spoke to the media about his performance and, while he was delighted to get his name on the scoresheet, he expressed an overriding sense of disappointment regarding the final result.

"Unfortunately, we lost and our chances of qualifying diminished. This requires an apology to the team's fans.
