Al Ahly were unable to secure a win in Jose Riveiro's first official game in charge after playing to a goalless draw against Lionel Messi's Inter Miami in the FIFA Club World Cup Opener.
Coach Riveiro handed starts to new signings Trezeguet and defender Achraf Dari in his first official game, while the Major League Soccer outfit were without the services of Jordi Alba at left-back.
The Egyptians made a lively start to the encounter and should have been ahead inside ten minutes when Emam Ashour was slipped through on goal, however the attacker was denied by goalkeeper Oscar Ustari.
That proved to be Ashour's last involvement as the attacker was forced off with an injury and was replaced by debutant Zizo, who joined the club from rivals Zamalek.

Inter, meanwhile, dominated possession for most of the first half but were unable to carve out any openings against a stubborn Al Ahly defence, Messi and Luis Suarez were kept quiet in the final third.
Al Ahly's dominance should have paid off four minutes before the halftime break after being awarded a penalty for Telasco Segovia's foul on Zizo in the box, which allowed Trezeguet to step up but his spot-kick was saved by Ustari.
Inter came out for the second half with a little more attacking intent, with Messi forcing Al Ahly goalkeeper Mohamed El Shenawy into a fine save with an effort from around 20-yards out inside the opening 10 minutes.
With the MLS side upping the tempo, Riveiro responded with a double change for the final 25 minutes as Trezeguet and Mohamed Ben Romdhane made way for Taher Mohamed And Hussein El Shahat in the attack.
El-Shenway came to Al Ahly's rescue with five minutes left on the clock as the Egyptian shot-stopper produced a fine save to keep out a towering header from Fafà Picault.
That proved to be the final opening of the encounter as the two sides were forced to settle for a share of the spoils.
