The Egyptian giants take on the Green and White in both teams' second group stage match of the FIFA Club World Cup. The two sides, along with FC Porto and Inter Miami, are all deadlocked with one point and no goals scored or conceded.
A win for the Red Devils would boost their chances of qualification for the last 16 ahead of a clash with Porto and the Al Ahly captain has not underestimated the challenge that lies in front of them, according to Yallakora.
"The players know the importance of this match, and we’ll go in with full focus," El-Shenawy said.
"Our aim is to win, not draw. We need to play better than the previous game and focus on the small details," he added.
The two teams previously met in the 2021 FIFA Club World Cup where Palmeiras defeated Al Ahly 2-0 in the semi-finals. El-Shenawy said this time it would be different.
"The upcoming match will be difficult and intense, but we’re fully focused and aiming for victory," he said.
"Of course, it’s in Palmeiras’ favour that their coach has been with them for five years— they understand his playing style and tactics well."

He concluded: "With all the group matches ending in a draw, that worked in our favour, as it's like starting fresh. We’ve closed the Inter Miami chapter and are now fully focused on Palmeiras."
