Xavi Reacts To Barca's Loss To Man Utd

Xavi Hernandez believes Barcelona struggled to cope with Manchester United's intensity as they crashed out of the UEFA Europa League.

Xavi Hernandez has shared his first thoughts following Barcelona's exit from Europe after losing 4-3 on aggregate to Manchester United.

Sancho Made 'Benni Request' At Man Ut

Thursday night produced yet another premature exit from the UEFA Europa League for the Catalan giants, who suffered a 2-1 defeat at Old Trafford despite going ahead in the tie.

Second-half goals from Brazil internationals Fred and Antony sent United into the next round of the competition, after a 2-2 draw at the Camp Nou last week.

Speaking after the game, Xavi explained that it was the home side's intensity that made life uncomfortable for the Blaugrana in the return fixture.

"United were very intense in that second half," he said, according to the Daily Mirror

"They are in very good form at the moment and are very good at home. It is those fine details that made all the difference."

Robert Lewandowski, meanwhile, believes the Spanish giants could have perhaps been more adventurous as they chased an equaliser.

"Of course we fought until the end to change the result but it was not enough," the Poland international said.

"Maybe if we had tried to score another goal, took more risks and tried to create another situation, it'd also have been more tough for the opponent to have gone forward."
