It was announced on Thursday afternoon that the 36-year-old and the club had agreed to end his time with the Red Devils following an injury-stricken season.
The Swede enjoyed a brilliant debut campaign in England, during which he scored 28 goals for United and assisted 10 further strikes, but a bad knee injury towards the back-end of the 2016/17 campaign saw physios rule him out for up to nine months.
Despite recovering quicker than expected, Ibrahimovic featured only seven times for the club this season as he was not back to full fitness.
According to SI.com, the player has cut his stay at United short to join MLS club LA Galaxy, where he will reportedly stay until the end of the 2019 season.
It is believed that the Los Angeles-based club will announce the signing of Ibrahimovic sometime on Friday.
It has been claimed that the striker is in line to make his debut for the club on 31 March against Galaxy's local rivals LAFC.
